Does EasyRoyalties include accounting features?
Our royalty software provides extensive facilities for recording financial data, including advances, royalty receipts, co-edition prices & invoices (Mini Rights and That’s Rights), sales figures (EasyRoyalties), commissions & payments (That’s Rights! Agents), and so on – and all of this in multiple currencies.
Royalty calculations can be associated with your own GL account numbers for interfacing with your accounting system. Our royalty software can export a payments due file for use by your accounting department. You can import a payment updates file that updates payments due with payment date, payment method and check number (reference number).
The software; however, does not provide functionality for maintaining complete financial records.
Is there a limit to the number of titles I can manage with your royalty software?
EasyRoyalties is priced by the number of titles it manages and can be upgraded to a higher tier at any time. In this way it can accommodate the needs of small publishers at a low cost. You can manage multiple company databases under a single license.
Our largest client in North America has about 11,000 titles. Most clients have a license for 800 or fewer titles.
The optional rights module is priced by the number of rights licenses. It supports unlimited submissions (license offers) and unlimited permission transactions.
What kind of computer do I need?
EasyRoyalties will run on any personal computer (desktop or laptop PC) that operates under the Microsoft Windows® operating system (Microsoft Windows® 7 or later).
If you wish to use our royalty software solution with a Macintosh, you can do so by installing Windows as a ‘guest’ operating system using industry-standard Mac applications such as Parallels Desktop.
EasyRoyalties is also available on a hosted Windows Desktop platform on a subscription basis. Contact us for more information.
In multi-users systems the data file is stored on a Windows Server or a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device. The application is installed on the user’s personal computer.
My free trial period has expired and I was too busy to evaluate the software – what do I do?
Email use the product ID and we will provide you a license key that will expend the trial version for another 30 days.
Several people in my company need to evaluate the software. Can we install a trial copy on more than one computer?
Yes. Use the same copy the downloaded file and install it on each computer where you want to evaluate EasyRoyalties.

Are there additional annual fees?
Once you have purchased a license for our royalty software; EasyRoyalties, it is yours to use, indefinitely. There are no renewal fees, no obligatory maintenance fees or other extra costs.

For clients on an Enhanced plan, the New York office of Kensai International will provide guidance as you progress through the implementation process. Our staff will review your database file. We will import authors, products and historical sales at no charge if the information is provided in Excel spreadsheets formatted to our specifications.

Same day response to email inquires is available seven days a week; including weekends, except for office holidays. This service is available to clients with an Enhanced support plan.

What are extended support hours?
The Enhanced Support plans provides after business hours support; by appointment, seven days a week. No support is available during office holidays.
Example: In June 2017 a client contacted support on a Saturday and we resolved their issue within an hour. Another client contacted us at 7:23PM EST during the week and we engaged in an online screen sharing session at 8:15PM that evening to resolve their issue. A client in Australian requested support at 2AM EST (4 PM Australia Time) and we provided it via an online screen sharing session. In August 2017 a client requested an online screen sharing session at 9:30PM EST and we provided it.

What is the database review service?
With the database review service our staff will answer clients questions that require a review of client provided file(s); database file, import file or an export file.
Example: When client questioned a royalty calculation a review of their database file allowed us to identify an incorrect royalty rule. When a client was unsure of how to import a sales file our staff reviewed the file and provide instructions on the field mappings. We also suggested using the EasyRoyalties import translation table. The translation table converts a specified field value in the import file to another value.

Royalty Processing Service
For software purchased through Kensai International a royalty processing service is available for EasyRoyalties clients in the United States.
We add authors & products, create royalty contracts, enter royalty advance payments, import sales, calculate royalties, and generate royalty statements as PDFs. Monthly we provide the client with a zipped (compacted) folder that contains a copy of their updated Easy Royalties data file, a folder with royalty contract PDFs, a folder with royalty statement PDFs, and a royalty contract summary report. The contract summary report shows the royalty terms for each royalty contract.

Version Sunset Dates
Support for EasyRoyalties Version 3 ends March 31, 2018. Version 4 was released in December 2014.
Version 3 users can upgrade their current license to Version 4 at a 75% discount through October 31, 2017.
